Anya Hindmarch and Sigerson Morrison for Target: Should have never happenend?

Although I have always been a fan of Target's Go Internationcal clothing collections, I have yet to find a accessories line that has inspired me to whip out my credit card.

It just seems as though all of the handbags and shoes made by upscale designers for Target always look exceedingly cheap. As in, "I think I just saw that fill in blank knock-off at Forever 21 a couple of days ago."

And the new accessories lines by Anya Hindmarch and Sigerson Morrison that will dropping Target store on October 12th and September 12th, respectively, are keeping with that slightly tacky-looking aesthetic.

Nylon has a sneak peak of both lines and they're underwhelming, to say the least. What do you think?

Keep, Opening in Fairfax on Thursday!

Keep, the ethical shoe company that makes thoes really comfortable hi-top sneakers and comfy over-sized hoodies, is opening a store in Fairfax this Thursday.

Since they love us so much, they made up this coupon that allows all those planning to make the trek to the new store to receive %10 off their purchase of Keep products.

Yeah, I'm blushing too. In addition, the brand wants to throw a party this Saturday for all of those equally excited about its new store location.

The party will commence at 8pm. Be polite and you may even leave with a nice little gift.

Tracey Reese + Keds

Mischa Bartons had her turn and Nanette Lapore been riding high for about three season now. But it's Tracey Reese who's been tapped to update classics canvas shoes for Keds this year.

Yesterday, the brand announced it would be collaborating with the American designer on a shoe line that will drop sometime next spring.

The Plenty by Tracey Reese collection will consist of peep-toe wedge sneakers, skimmers and ballet flats inspired by designs and prints from the designer's Spring 2009 collection.

On the collaborations Tracey says: "I am thrilled to collaborate with such an iconic brand and excited about fusing the Plenty by Tracy Reese eclectic and wordly designs with casual footwear."

Oh, Tracey. I'm thrilled too because you're beautiful knee-length princess dresses are kind of hard to come by. But please, just say no to the sneaker wedge. Okay?

Doc Martens + Raf Simons= huh?

Take it for what you will, but It looks like 90s favorite, Doc Martens, just got a second wind from an unsuspecting source.

It appears designer Raf Simmons will be collaborating with the shoe brand on a limited-edition line set to drop sometime in spring '09. Three prototypes from the collaboration recently appeared at Bread & Butter, the Barcelona trade show where lots of popular niche brands show-off all of their new designs for buyers.

While I understand Raf's decision to bring the modern minimalist aesthetic that has made his own lines so popular to the Doc Martens franchise by streamlining an otherwise boring shoe style, there's absolutely nothing even mildly attractive in his two opened-toed shoes. In particular, the "mandel" with red stitching. It's looks like a fall '07 Balenciaga gladiator sandal gone awry.

Hopefully, the women will be spared from this collaboration because I would hate to see what a remixed pair of day-glo hi-tops would look like.

And now we have our own forum.
