It's official. The "M" in MTV no longer stands for music, which is kind of weird since they are hell bent on calling themselves a music channel. Go figure?
The good people over at Models.com reports today that the network is gearing up to air a model reality show and they're looking for a few hired actresses budding mannequins to star in their new project. Oh, and you must be healthy!
Here's the inconspicuous press release:
"Michael Flutie and Chris Abrego with MTV Networks will offer 10 women the opportunity to work with a panel of industry experts, physical fitness trainers, photographers, a model authority and a nutritionist. Under the watchful eyes of these experts, models will endure twelve weeks of intensive physical fitness training to help them get down to their ideal size.
Models will also compete in various high fashion challenges to determine who has star quality. With weekly eliminations looming, models must put their best foot forward at all times while staying focused on losing weight. Get in shape, develop your modeling skills and polish your "look" to achieve your ultimate goal of becoming a high fashion model."
The prizes include $100,000, a modeling contract (?), and a chance to walk the runway for a celebrity designer (LA Fashion Week/Lauren Conrad). Don't get too excited just yet. There are a few requirements: you must be between the ages of 17-24 and at least 5'9 but no taller than 6'0.
If you think you have what it takes, email your best body shot (head shots and body shots in a bathing suit) by today to mtvmodel@madwood.tv. Good Luck!

Being that this is a fashion blog and I'm not too keen on bad-mouthing a fourteen-year-old child, I'm going to stick solely to the more politically correct issue I have with E's Living Lohan:
"Supermodel on deck" was how the contestants were supposed to greet host/producer Gemase Simmons when the cameras were rolling on his model reality show -- except he never had Tyson Beckford's career. And his little show? Well, that wasn't real either.
