Still, he managed to set aside enough time to film himself -- immaculately dressed -- stunting on a boat to deliver his fans a video message for overwhelming supporting his Nike Air Yeezy this past weekend. It's short. It's to the point. It's Kanye being Kanye. Thanks and you're welcome.

Honestly, we knew all kinds of ridiculousness would be in store for the launch of Kanye West's Air Yeezy when we caught word that certain retail accounts were selling the sneaker by way of a raffle, considering the high demand for the $215 item. Simply crazy because practically no one has any money! We mean, look up. Isn't the sky suppose to be falling or something?
Anyways, undeterred fans, from as far as Cincinnati, camped out in front of the Niketown in Chicago for an opportunity at snagging the rapper/artist/designer/mullet aficionado's latest creation.
According to the Chicago Trubune:
"...About 40 people, most of them men in their 20s, were lined up outside Niketown early Saturday. James and a few others started to camp out as early as Thursday, but on Friday store officials gave them red wristbands and told them to come back Saturday. The store wanted to prevent a large crowd from forming and leaving an unsavory impression on the visiting International Olympic Committee, a Niketown employee said.
Shortly after 9 a.m., employees let a few customers enter the store to purchase their shoes. The store sold out of its supply of the sneakers -- 25 to 30 pair according to customers -- before it officially opened at 10 a.m. Niketown officials wouldn't disclose the number sold..."
Further, the article goes on talk about how owners of the Air Yezzys are now starting to hawk them on Ebay for $700. Unreal. For those who missed out on this first drop, like 20-year-old Terrill Tucker who drove all the way from Michigan only to end up empty handed, cheer up: the second in a total of three different Air Yeezy styles drops sometime next month.

Those trips by fashion director Dani Stahil to Nike's workout intensive corporate camp have finally paid off.
NYLON has teamed up with Nike to create a series of hyper neon hi-top sneakers. According to the hipster magazine, its full collection of Skittle-colored kicks can been seen in their entirety when the April issue drops, which will coincide with the mag's tenth anniversary.
Much like those studded fall '09 Alexander Wang totes, a few pairs of the NYLON shoes have been sent next day air to a few righteous chicks with a penchant for getting their picture taken by Patrick McMullen as much as possible.
So, keep your eyes peeled. Especially on sites that may have copious amounts of images of Cory Kennedy or Peaches Geldof on any given day. Cough*TheCobraSnake*Cough.

Ever wonder who was the genius (mad person, depending on how you feel about copious amounts of day-glo) behind all those neon Klaxons outfits?
Well, it's none other than UK's Carri Mundane and she's gearing up to assault America with her wacky prints and loud designs. Or at least that's what we thought. Much like Mama's Gabriella, we're slightly disappointed with the Cassete Playa (Carri's label) x Nike Blazer. The color combination is fun and welcomed but Miss Mundane could have done much more with the overall design of the sneaker.
Known for her creative aesthetic, one would think she could have played with prints and colors more, which would have added dimension to the shoe. The fact that she chose to go the minimalistic route is somewhat startling, so to speak. Anyways, we imagine it will sell out just as fast as everything else Carri makes.
For those interested in scooping up a pair in America (good luck with that), a NYC release date has been set for December 20th at Nike Sportswear at Mercer Street. Check out the interview Carri did with Nike for her upcoming sneaker collaboration. Enjoy.
This just goes to show, that even when hundreds of thousands of people are getting laid off each month and retail sales are at their lowest, a fashion collaboration can still be birthed.
APC, one of Britain's most coveted high street labels, has teamed up with sneaker juggernaut Nike for what is being called, "a small line of tennis shoes" which will be sold in stores next spring. We're going to go out on a limb and suggest that by "tennis shoes" they mean a more feminine sneaker silhouette.
Nonetheless, the $140 white canvas shoes are based on Nike’s classic “All Court” model from 1975 and come with three available “swoosh” colors: red, white or blue.
Don't expect any glitter or day-glo on these posh "tennis" shoes. As APC's founder and designer Jean Touitou laments: “We had a longing to make an elegant and simple sports shoe.”
The APC x Nike collab will be available in APC stores and wholesale accounts like Los Angeles’ Confederacy, Berkeley’s Bows + Arrows and Madison’s Context. Hopefully, everyone will have money by then. If not, there is always Keds!
