Marc or Karl?

Since reality TV is on everyones mind due to the eminent debut of the fifth season of Project Runway, let us now discuss another fashion "reality" star, Lauren Conrad.

I remember, as if it were just yesterday, when Marc Jacobs made a guest appearance on The Hills. It was fabulous, if only because the way Marc looked in those damn Juicy Couture velour sweatpants (ah-mazing).

It was also memorable because of the way Lauren acted when she came in contact with the American legend; she appeared not to be even remotely interested.

Well, Fabsugar recently caught up with Lo's BFF and she clarified what her feelings actually were about the man saying, "I was trying to act cool, but I didn’t even stand up to shake his hand. I actually came off a little bit too cold, like I didn’t really care and I felt kind of bad. I get really starstruck over really random people and designers."

OK. That makes since. I imagine (maybe) that I would be equally starstruck and left speechless. But then, I don't have a TV show to fall back on if my fashion career doesn't pan out, so maybe not.

But that aside, when asked who her favorite designer was between Karl Lagerfeld and Marc Jacobs, she chose the Kaiser. True. No one can front the genius that is Karl Lagerfeld. I am huge a fan too.

But wouldn't have been better, say, wise just to not say anything at all, play coy, and choose both? Especially, after it appeared that she snubbed Marc on her show. Lauren, you can do better.

Miss Marc Goes Green

Who knew Miss Marc had a green thumb?

The otherwise mopey illustration is resplendent and practically glowing on the front of a new Marc by Marc eco-friendly tote.

The hemp tote features Miss Marc standing in front of mother earth wearing a tee that boldly states: "One Earth One Change."

Cute, I know. But the price tag? Not so much.

Unlike Anya's Whole Foods status bag, you'll have to peruse Shopbop for Marc's take on conscious fashion. And if you choose to throw your credit card into the green ring, (and you very well may) it's going to cost you $128.

Honestly, though, I really don't mind the price tag.

It's just that I know Claire's sells hemp necklaces for $2. And this bag looks a lot like it was made from the same material that stayed glued to my neck in elementary.

But, I'm just saying...

After spending ridiculous amounts of time every week blogging about designers whom you'll probably never meet and who's designs you'll most likely never be able to afford, one has to wonder -- in a moment of delrium-- if those fashion deities ever check out your little 'ole blog.

Maybe just for a second? You know, to see who is the human being keeping the Google alerts popping up in their inbox everyday.

Well, one fashion blogger got the proverbial "hell yes" from one of his design heroes.

Marc Jacobs just named a retro ostrich skin handbag from his fall '08 collection after BryanBoy, the Manila-based blogger with the cheeky posts and great legs. This weekend, BB received a handwritten note from MJ and a prototype of his handbag. The "Sunburst BB Shoulderbag" can be purchased by us regular folks in September.

Meanwhile, Sophia Coppola better watch out. Marc Jacobs may have found a new muse in the blogger. The designer's Fall '08 Marc by Marc ads featuring Cole Mohr -- rocking houndstooth coats and black nail polish, amongst other things -- look much like BB's personal images on his blog.

Cole's swept hair, over-sized sunglasses, and "I know I'm fab" poses are eerily similar to that of BryanBoy's.

Hey Marc, if you ever want to name an accessory after us, well, we're all for it.

I know, I know.

It's extremely hot outside and the last thing you want to fumble with (besides summer school exams) is a wool double breasted coat.

Just typing that makes we want to get a scoop of, well, something very, very cold and preferably sweet.

However, it's made by Marc Jacobs and has been discounted by %50.

And as Tim Gunn always says, "It's about investing in pieces."

So, when the first cold wind breaks, you'll be there -- standing strong with your Starbucks and classic oh so very cool navy coat.
