This isn't too bad, but its sad nonetheless:
Burberry, like many other luxury labels, has announced it will be laying off around 500 employees.
Odd, considering Burberry Group plc saw revenues in the third quarter rise 30 percent, which were due largely to favorable currency fluctuations. Indeed, sales are on the rise in all of their markets -- with the exception of Spain, which has sales dropping 17 percent in the period.
To remedy this and cut costs in general, Burberry it would terminate its Thomas Burberry clothing business, made chiefly for the Spanish market, and streamline operations in that country. [WWD]

Burberry, Sales, Spain, layoff
And we're back.
Slowly but surely fashion's spring ad campaigns are starting to be released. While a lot of the major houses have yet to expose their new sleek photographs, there is a trend emerging: the accessories are much more important than the clothes! But you knew that already.
Anyways, handbags, to be exact, have been showed the most love. And Burberry keeps the trends going with its spring ads. That said, there is something else very striking about these shots: they are spectacularly low-budget. Sure, Lily Donaldson wasn't cheap and neither was the photographer, Mario Testino, that snapped her and about eight others.
But compared to the art direction of seasons past, this series of ads which appear to have been shot in someone's rooftop plant nursery could have been executed much better. The women, expensive donning metallic coats and smug faces, look out of place in their environment.
But, then again, a bland background does make the black tartan tote -- The Gardener -- being highlighted by Lly that much more obvious which is good considering where you lye on the Burberry check divide.
Look at this clutch. Stop everything you're doing right, yup, that means you're going to have to wait to knock off that last swig of coffee, and stare at this odd little thing.
Burberry, the British export that prides itself on being able to lure people inside its store to purchase three hundred dollar wellies, expects this clutch to sell-out super fast.
So much so, that the brand is arbitrarily launched an online waiting list to secure the two thousand dollar "masterpiece."
According to Vogue UK, "it is made of the softest leather and encrusted with dangerous-looking degradé copper, dark nickel and gold metal spikes." So yeah, if you're still into about the latest "it" or "must-have" accessory, feel free to wait in line here.

No sad faces over at the Agyness Deyn camp, though. The supermodel just landed Angelina Jolie's old job as the face of Shisedo. [Vogue UK]
