Surprise! Someone is actually hiring folks in this god awful recession. Annie of Cubannie Links (whom we just interviewed) is looking for a few good sales representatives. She's looking for someone who's in love with her line, hard-working, smart, dedicated, and willing to bust their tail so as to see every fly chick in the world with a piece of CL in their wardrobe by the end of 2009. If this sounds like something you would be interested in pursuing, send a resume and a little paragraph explaining why you would be the perfect choice for the job to iwannawork@cubannielinks.com. Also, you need to attach a picture of your beautiful mug, one reference from a former employer, and one reference from either a relative or friend, you know, to make sure you're not crazy. Sales experience is a plus but it's not a requirement. Good luck!

Cubannie Links Wants You!
Confirmed: Bar Refaeli for SI Swimsuit Cover '09
As was confirmed last night on David Letterman, Leonardo DiCaprio's boo, Bar Refaeli, beat out the equally deserving Anne V. and Hilary Rhoda for the 2009 SI Swimsuit cover.
To celebrate, the 23-year-old Israeli model will begin her media blitz on Wednesday night on Mr. Letterman's couch.
In other news, Bar -- along with Chanel Iman -- are rumored to be hosting MTV's revived version of the 90s hit, House of Style. Maybe this new found fame will make the negotiation process between the cable network and Bar's agent that much more lively. [Just Jared]
Cargo Tradeshow, Coming to NY 1/19 to 1/20
If there appears to be one niche inside the fashion industry that has managed to stay afloat, it would be the streetwear and urban lifestyle oriented labels and movements.
Cool, consdering the aformentioned brands will be showing off their new designs at the Cargo Tradeshow in New York from January 19th to 20th.
Even better, Cargo will be setting up a pop-up store and is wanting people to swing by so they can be interviewed, discussing what they loved or hated about the event. Karmallop TV will also be there and wants just as many people to stop by their booth as well.
And yes, there will be lots of food, complimentary beverages, amazing sales on emerging streetwear, surf, and skateboard labels, as well as music for from a slew of hot NY DJs. Clearly, that last bit of info is relative but if you have the chance to make it out to the event you should go. If only because you'll finally be able to meet the people behind all of those graphic tees you purchase each season.
Here are the event details:
Date: Mon & Tues, January 19th & 20th, 11am to 8pm
Where: St. Patrick's Center, 268 Mulberry Street NYC

First Look: Longchamp Spring '09 Ad Campaign

Whoa. Everything finally makes sense now. Sasha Pivovarova has had it tough, ya know. Every since the Russian supemodel broke onto the scene, she has been confused, numerous times, of looking exactly like Gemma Ward. And, honestly, it is kind of true. People confuse them for each other all the time. We certainly do. That said, when Kate Moss and Sasha began to sport a similar hair do and color the rumblings began again, "Why does she look so much like fill in the blank now?" Well, there was a method behind Sasha's agent's madness.
The two IMG power blondes have been snapped together in the new spring '09 Longchamp campaign. Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot in Los Angeles, the photographs feature the brand's famous handbags as well as remnants from its 12-piece spring collection. In the saturated images, the supermodels look as if they could be twins. Tres bon!
