Admittedly, I didn't like the Givenchy cowgirl inspired spring collection. At all. The whole denim and leather mix was mind boggling to me. And yet, the ads for these odd pieces probably my favorite this season. Maybe it's a testament to the styling genius that is French Vogue's Carine Roitfeld or the sleek look of these black and white i&v images. I'm not sure. Nonetheless, Lara Stone, Lakshmi Menon, Mariacarla Boscono, and Ana Claudia Michels look divine, no?

Somewhere in between aimlessly re-watching Blagojevich press conferences on Youtube and consuming lots of delicious holiday dinners with friends and family, all those much-anticipated spring '09 ad campaigns made their way into magazines, and for our purposes, the web.
As was expected, designers by and large stuck with the more recognizable faces during this recessionary period (think: Gisele, Kate Moss, and Daria). But there were a few PYT that did receive major love from fashion's heavyweights. Case in point: Women's Toni Garrn.
Remember? She was suppose to take over the reigns at Calvin Klein once Natalia Vodianova said good-bye. Then CK recruited Ali Stephens and Karlie Kloss for a similar job and, well, I have no idea what happened. But things from the outside didn't look too good for the beautiful German. However, she's bounced back in a major this season, scoring four major campaigns including the all-important supposedly life changing Prada gig.
Anyways, after the jump check out some of my favorite ads this season

The highly anticipated Prada spring '09 campaign has finally been revealed. Shot by Steven Meisel, it features Viktoriya Sosonkina, Anna Jagodzinska, Ymre Stiekema, Katrin Thormann, Nimue Smit, Sigrid Agren and Giedre Dukauskaite. Our opinion: Ugh. Thoughts?

Whoa. Everything finally makes sense now. Sasha Pivovarova has had it tough, ya know. Every since the Russian supemodel broke onto the scene, she has been confused, numerous times, of looking exactly like Gemma Ward. And, honestly, it is kind of true. People confuse them for each other all the time. We certainly do. That said, when Kate Moss and Sasha began to sport a similar hair do and color the rumblings began again, "Why does she look so much like fill in the blank now?" Well, there was a method behind Sasha's agent's madness.
The two IMG power blondes have been snapped together in the new spring '09 Longchamp campaign. Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot in Los Angeles, the photographs feature the brand's famous handbags as well as remnants from its 12-piece spring collection. In the saturated images, the supermodels look as if they could be twins. Tres bon!
